KEEP UP ON ALL THE LATEST VIDEOS AND CONFERENCES WITH CRIME STOPPERS Posted on: 08/04/2011
Each week we will update the lates crime video and News Conference here, and you can see them all on our You Tube page as well. SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - New information can help solve the murder of a young man and the shooting of three others. They were all at a birthday party at Marvins Garden Hotel in Southfield when three or four robbers attacked them at gunpoint at 1 a.m. on May 27. Ellis Ross III, 24, was killed. He had a hotel room somewhere else and just stopped by to say happy birthday to his cousin," said Ross' mother, Lisa. Southfield police have been working the case but no arrests have been made. Family members say Ross was targeted for the attack because he was wearing expensive Cartier Sunglasses. He had added diamonds on the side. They were vicious. They shot my son eight times over a pair of glasses, which he worked every day for, says Ellis Ross II, his dad. Im pleading with the public. This was an execution-type killing, says Ellis Ross I, the grandfather. One of the people at the hotel was Anika Garnes, who says she got a look at a gunman who was younger, 18 to 20, thin build with a heavy southern accent. A composite put out by Southfield Police shows an older man.
